Day 13 - True North Health Center

I accomplished my goal!

I completed a 10 day fast with water only.

They asked me to attempt 21 days to get the full benefits of the fast, but I thought it would be amazing if I could do 10 days, and I did it!

I've lost 25 lbs, my blood pressure (tested daily) has never been over 120/80. In fact it's been as low as 110/65 and my blood gluclose is down to 80....all achieved with no medications and eliminating the health risks of side effects from the medications.

Three years ago I topped out at 341 lbs....now I am under 270 lbs.
Earlier this year, my blood gluclose was 260..... now it's under 80...with no medication!

My doctors prescribed (4) different medications and strongly suggested Gastric Bypass surgery to solve my health problems.....and I agree when all else fails, we always have that route, but instead I started reading and learning about Dr Ornish, Dr Barnard, Dr, Klapper, Dr. Eselstyn, Dr Lisle, Jeff Novick, Dr Goldhammer, Dr Joel Fuhrman, and Dr John McDougall.... a group of dedicated health care professionals that have tens of thousands of case studies from patients that changed their diet to a plant based, whole food diet and it drastically improved their health, many times completely reversing chronic diseases.

SO I started eating better, reducing Meat, fish, dairy, sugar, oil, salt, COFFEE, JACK Danials, and all processed foods.....and walking a lot.....trying to average 7500 steps/day...as calculated on an app on my I-phone.

I'm far from perfect, but I am on the right path!

My weight is down, my sugar is down, my cholesteral is down.....and the inflamation in my body that is contributing to my stiffness and arthritis has gotten better!

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one! I've had a few people comment to me that they could never do it....that what I am doing is too drastic or radical? It amazes me how much useless and wrong information flows in and out of peoples heads. Where do you get protein seems to be the biggest concern.....The hospitals are filled with people dying from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc....and there are no known cases of any American dying from lack of protein, yet we have been brainwashed that we need more protein.....or we need more dairy, or yogurt, or eggs.....all have so much fat that clogs the arteries, we have all gone crazy!

So I found a lifestyle or diet that is easy and works for me....I'm not perfect, I'm not advocating it for my friends, just sharing my experiences...no need to criticize me or make negative comments defending the FDA that lies to us all, or the Health Care System, or the Pharmaceutical Industry.... because although they are great for critical care, trauma, emregencies, they do not understand chronic diseases that have been increasing in America becasue of the SAD, (Standard American Diet) that has too much fat, oil, sugar, salt, and processed fake foods.
